Although I have never had the privilege to see Phil Wickham in concert, I enjoy his music on a daily basis. I was so glad to have the opportunity to review his latest CD, Children of God. What I have found the most refreshing about it is the truth and sincerity of the lyrics. There is no doubt that if you give it half a chance, Children of God will absolutely move you! I think my favorite song is, Your Love Awakens Me, which is becoming increasingly more popular on the Christian music charts! Way to go Phil!!
Children of God contains 12 songs. I took my CD to work with me and listened to it throughout the day, and loved every minute of it! I found this CD to contain amazing songs of worship and praise to our Mighty God! You truly get a sense of the heart and soul that went into this project!
1. Doxology/Amen - This song takes you into the throne room of God as you worship the One True God.
2. Better Than Life - I really enjoyed this the upbeat tempo of this song. If you are anything like me you will catch yourself singing this song even without the music!
3. Your Love Awakens Me - FAVORITE! Or as my girls say, "That's my fav!" I love how personal this song is about the working of God in our lives. God is a personal God, and this song reveals that.
4. The Secret Place - This song features Madison Cunningham. This worship song is one that I found myself listening to over and over again. I know you will enjoy it as well.
5. Wide Awake - This song will encourage and uplift you as you listen.
6. My All in All - You know those songs that captivate you and uniquely describe the depth of God's great love for us? Yes, that is what you find in this song right here! LOL! What a great song!
7. Starmaker (High Above the Earth) - As you listen to this song you will find yourself drawn into worship. I really enjoyed this song!
8. Children of God - I had heard this song on the radio before hearing it on the CD and love it! We are children of God...and we shouldn't forget that!
9. Stand in Awe - This powerful song explains how a true believer of Christ feels. Often I stand in awe of the Almighty, and this song is a wonderful reminder of the greatness of our God.
10. Body Mind and Soul - We are commanded to love God with all our Body Mind and Soul. This song is a wonderful praise song that encourages us to worship in sincerity.
11. As It Is In Heaven - I have read verses in the Bible that are great to pray over my life. This song helps you refocus your prayers a little bit!
12. Spirit of God - Made me even more hungry for the Spirit of God in my life.

I was so glad to hear about this project, the first of Phil Wickham's for the past 3 years. Although he was unsure if he could return to music after his surgery and subsequent recovery, we serve a big God! The re-awakening that God did in Phil Wickham's heart and mind over the past several years is evident in the Children of God CD. Passion is contagious and he does a great job of sharing that passion with us all!
