Philemon 1:7 “Your love has given me great joy
and encouragement, because you, brother have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s
people.”
The fact of the matter is this, our world is lost. You don't have to have the news on too long before that becomes painfully evident. We need to be an encouragement to those around us. We are called to be salt and light to this world, and yet we get so caught up in our own life that we forget our true mission.
I
Thessalonians 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up,
just as in fact you are doing.”
What would happen if you decided to influence lives on purpose? What would that look like? I believe we would look more and more like Christ! We would illuminate the path for others straight to the heart of God!!!
When I was a young adult I had a job at a popular steakhouse. I would attend church each week and leave right at the end of the sermon and head to work for the lunch rush. I hate to say this, but I was treated the worst by the "salt and light" people. THAT SHOULD NOT BE SO!! Wake up Christians and share the love of Christ with the people around you! It will make a difference ......at the very least .....in the person's day.......at the very most.........in their eternity!!!
Hebrews 3:13
“But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called ‘Today’ so that none
of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.”
So, stop what you're doing right now and encourage someone, while it is still called today!
